Brilliant Piece of Kit |
this dvd player is awesome i cant get over how good it is. it plays everything you stick in it and the playback is brilliant quality. plays divx 3, 4, 5 and xvid along with mpeg, mp3, ogg, svcd, vcd and dvds of course basically everything u can think of. the only downside which isnt really that bad is that on vcd playback when the frame rate skips up in tends to stop in order to refresh itself. a minor price to pay for such a good product. also this might be repaired as kiss are releasing firmware all the time.id give it more than five stars if i could absolutly A******

Good Value Player |
For under £100 I was not too sure what to expect, however this is a very good player. It is about the size of an A4 ream of paper and comes with all the leads required. It has a good quality finish and looks the part. It also has all the audio/video outputs an enthusiast would require. The DVD playback is good and sound quality is great too. It can easily be made region free as described below. The ability to upgrade the firmware is easy and gives the machine some future proofing. It has played all the divx files I have thrown at it with no problem and I always get a full screen - which seems to be a problem with other divx players. This player means you do not need to link your PC to a TV to watch divx films, and I get a much better picture than through my 128Mg Radeon 9000 pro TV out, plus the confort of my sofa! I would recommend this to people who are not currently familiar with divx, as this functionality may come in useful in the future. Very pleased with this machine and in hindsight it’s a bargain.

Excellent kit but no playback of mirrored dvds!!! |
I got the dvd player and was impressed with its size and design, looks alot better in the flesh than the pics. Tested it with various dvds and the quality of playback was awesome. Then before trying divx decided to upgrade to the latest firmware which was quite straightforward. Only thing when asked to restart machine, requires removing power cable and plugging back in as there is no power switch. Played all my divx movies except one which had used QPEL in its encoding process. The fast forward works also but can take a while to resume playback while it finishes seeking. But then for me there was shock horror, a majority of my dvds are backed up on mirrored dvd-rs, each time i insert one of these the dvd starts trying to read it and after a few minutes just sits back as if there is nothing in it!!! And this is with the latest firmware so I need to do more research as to what the issue is and whether this will be resolved with a firmware fix or through some other setting. Otherwise I may have to return the player for one that can read those disks. Apart from that a good piece of kit with most of the cables included.
